Aug 25th – First time we both visited South Dakota
Sept 24th – Visited the northwest corner of the United States, Cape Flattery
Sept 25th – Drove over the 45th Parallel (the halfway point between the equator and the North Pole
Oct 3rd – Slept in a tent with wind gusting 25-30 mph (Pretty cool in a weird and exhausting way!!)
Oct 4th – Two of our bikes were stolen in Oakland. Later find out we should not have been surprised…who knew???
Oct 19th – Visited the southwest corner of the United States (Border Field State Park)
Oct 22nd – Got on a surfboard for the first time
Oct 25th – Got to see Marine Corps Base 29 Palms for the first time with Brendan – it’s all I expected!!
Oct 29th – Visited the Grand Canyon for the 4th time and it still takes my breath away
Oct 30th – Sedona tops the list of “where we might live” places
Nov 8th – Zip-lining was the most fun I have ever had in an “extreme” way – truly thrilling and not in the least scary
Nov 25th – We find snow in Utah
Dec 7th – We move to over 9,000ft – whoa!!! altitude can really play havoc on the human body
Dec 10th – Brendan has a tummy ache and then has his appendix removed; quite an unexpected first time event for Tom and me.
Dec 16th – We drove to the top of Pikes Peak – 14115 ft – quite incredible and very gorgeous.
Dec 25th – Christmas at daughter’s new home; passing of the torch. She made the croissants (and they were yummy!)
Feb-March – We help friends renovate their kitchen while staying with them. (Our 6th reno!)
Mar 18th – Visited the southernmost point of the US in Key West, FL
Mar 29th – Visited family in Concord NC (always a highlight, especially when it’s 2 nieces and a nephew!)
Mar 31st – Stood on the Appalachian Trail (this may not seem like much but it sparked our commitment to hike the full trail!)
April 8th – Finally visited the Georgia O’Keeffe museum and Santa Fe – both were all I had hoped for and more. Top of my “places we might live” list.
April 12th – Got to see kidlet #3 for the first time in 7 months and it was wonderful
April 18th – There are no words to describe the oldest living beings on earth; the Sequoias are truly beyond imagination and more beautiful than I could ever have thought.
April 29th – Crossing back into Washington state came with mixed feelings. I don’t want this experiment to end. I want to maintain the feeling of freedom, joy, peace and abundance all the days of my life.
